London baby!

I took a trip to London recently with a close friend, it was one I'd been contemplating for a while. The only thing that stood in my way appeared to be money (isn't it always) but I'm so glad I did! I can't stress enough how much of a beautiful town Camden is, full of quirky little market stalls and shops.

Abandoned car plastered with graffiti.

There was so much to do and see, the whole atmosphere surrounding Camden was inspirational. It has to be said environments like that make me feel very insignificant in myself. When I was younger, I always saw my older self as being brave and bold, fashion wise. I saw punk, black, tartan and leather. I imagined my face being plastered with metal, my skin with ink and my body in studs. A part of me still holds onto that, the reason I loved Camden so much. It's everything I would've wanted to be, but everyone grows up and grows out of stages. I still love to have a rocky/grunge edge to my fashion, I'd never be seen without a black item of clothing!

Another reason I loved Camden was for all the outrageously intricate designs tucked away throughout the whole town. Varied styles, from Chinese, African and some Aborigine carved away creating a timeline of woody beauty. Call me a tree-hugger but I appreciate these simple things in life. I decorated my room in 2010 to the much loved Chinese theme, scrolls, symbols, Buddhas and of course my adorable Terracotta Warrior. I have always appreciated the simplicity of the spiritual life the Chinese Buddhist lead.

Last but not least, the ring I purchased at a Camden market stall. I absolutely love rings and I could not leave this one behind. I'm surprised I only brought one, out of all the ones I saw. I've been after a rose inspired one for a while and thought this looked perfect with the one I was wearing. It breaks me that I am not wearing nail polish, but some compromises have to be made whilst being employed.

So that was my trip to London in a nutshell, I would absolutely love to make a return but I fail to see how my bank balance will allow for it any time soon!
