DIP-HEM HIPPY

A quick update to show some of my new things. In the top picture you can make out my new marl dip hem top from eBay. I've been after more dip hem tees as the Topshop one I own is something I could easily wear 7 days straight. I believe dip hem tees are absolutely perfect with leggings (one of my ultimate pet-peeves being women wearing them as trousers.)
Leggings are such a hard item to master, but I'm forever seeing naiive, cringy mistakes and there is NOTHING worse than being able to see womens' underwear through their "trousers". This is where the dip hem comes to the rescue; being a top from the front and discreetly covering the see-through bum part! Thank fashion gods!

The next two images are my beloved rings. I have forever been a fan of silver and rings but was unable to wear them up until two years ago. I forced myself to get used to the feeling and now feel lost without them. New ones are on each thumb and the beautiful skeleton ring on my middle finger. Again, all eBay purchases from a great silver seller. And just a moment of appreciation please for Nails Inc and the everlasting shade of blue that worships my nails (I love you).

OH MY...

I really think you all should check out a little brand called Oh My Love. I first found out about them at the Clothes Show Live last year. I stumbled upon a small stand and completely fell for this dipped hem aubergine coloured dress, the brand being OML. Check them out and you're sure to find some interesting items on there.

THE Clothes Show Live 2012

On 7th December I attended The Clothes Show Live in Birmingham, an event that has blessed the city for 24 years running. I went a few years back and to my disappointment  there seemed to be more make-up than actual clothes. It's fair to say that it's an annual thing, yes the makeup took priority over the clothes even though I'm not much of a make-up lover. The show however was a must-see, Daisy Lowe was the official ambassador of the show and Peter Andre modeled his new clothing range, Alpha. The styling on this years catwalk shone, beautiful materials teamed with perfect shoes. A real inspiration to create something from my own wardrobe. The clothes modeled on the catwalk were day-to-day clothes, nothing too eccentric or exotic for the likes of this countries unpredictable weather. I was thoroughly impressed with the ending of the show, a stylish take and dance off of Psy's Gangnam style, left me entertained and was a great way to end the show!

CLOTHES!

Hello!
If you didn't already know, it was my 18th birthday yesterday! I had a lovely time with both my best friends. I went to Telford shopping centre and came back with about 200 bags, (slight exaggeration) nothing I originally went there for, but at least I got some clothes. As I mentioned before in my previous blog, I'm LOVING the autumn trends at the moment, just my style so it's really hard to chose between them all! I managed to get my hands on some creeper style, all black baseball boots from River Island with £10 off. Warm, cosy, perfect for college and a bargain! I also treated myself to two games (little geek), a hot chocolate and two new jumpers.

The cold weather is upon us and I couldn't be more excited, although in recent years I've been appreciating summer more, I still love the idea of dark days and knitted scarfs. I got very excited whilst reading Octobers edition of Company to find two pages dedicated to goth. Now, of corse it's not really goth, just the fashion industries toned down metallic take on goth. But still, it's dark and I love it. I've never been into fur, but trying on a black faux fur jacket yesterday made me reconsider. My visions for this Autumn/winter are of dresses and skirts with tights, boots and just maybe a faux fur coat.
Recent years, my confidence levels have affected my fashion and effectively my health; because I haven't been brave enough to go for bold coats, printed tights and wedge boots, I resulted in layering existing clothes and predominantly looking like a tramp. This shall change! Big bold and brave! Past A/W clothes have made it hard for me to keep my distinct edge and be warm, so that's my challenge for this winter.
I'm excited for winter, anyone else?!
