My Dsmbr

This is my December. This is my time of the year.
This year has possibly been the biggest year of my life, to date. The past two years, I've felt myself grow so much, my personality and my interests have seriously matured. I have more responsibility and authority and finally feel like I'm taking control of my life.
This year began with the stresses of applying for university, not knowing what I wanted to do entirely, then with the university interviews and visiting the universities. On top of that, finishing all my college work and re-doing work from the previous year, I also stressed with learning to drive as well as juggling a job. I swear I got a social life in there too somewhere.

I'd say June was probably the most stressful and emotional month of the year, and July was upsetting. But in the end, I did what I should have done at the start of the year, although I believe everything happens for a reason. That reason has became apparent in the last month. I feel like I have found everything I've wanted and needed. There's been something missing from my life and a believe I've found it. A feeling so extraordinarya, and just to end the year.

I know I live with no regrets as life keeps getting better. If it doesn't, then you're doing something wrong.

Adam and Eve.

The tree of life stands tall today,
Like every other fall.
The two year sentence I'm condemned to serve,
The tree, she towers my walls.

The poison fills my veins with bliss,
A brief high of electric joy.
Resist the Forbidden, my living drug
Decoy decoy decoy.

But now the Apple has rotten again,
And I'm sent back down to hell,
Another two years will pass me by
Poor Adam is under my spell

POLYVORE

I just wanted to share some of my recent autumnal inspired creations from Polyvore. Autumn is by far my favourite season, thick cable knit socks and chunky snoods. You can literally wear anything in Autumn, shorts are teamed with tights and layers can be added or removed. I've recently fell in love with a pair of Jeffery Campbell boots which are out of my price range but so beautiful. They look alot like Agness Deyn collab with Dr Marten but slightly more platformy, win win!

Another reason I love Autumn/Winter is the re-appearance of velvet. Its so beautiful and glams up any outfit. Just one velvet jacket will make an outfit look classy and expensive. With a variety of colours, what are you waiting for?

Baroque & Roll

DeJa Vu it seems as this years A/W collections seem to be just as perfect as last years. My personal love for gothic trends escalate in winter as blacks get layered with blacks. Reds/blacks/lace/baroque's/jacquard/wool/knit/leather/paneling the list goes on!
I'm actually getting excited writing about it, browsing through my favourite A/W shops, NewLook, River Island and H&M. I seem to want everything.

Alrighty then, off to sell all my current clothes in order to purchase new ones! Recycle!

10 Beauty Must-Haves

Looking down at my light tan, but predominantly black coloured cotton pad, it occurs to me that I have a list of beauty essentials in my life. Unfortunately I'm not a beauty heavy person, however, even the more boyish ladies need essentials, right?!

Starting with Garniers Fresh Essentials Cleansing Lotion. No1 essential is a cleanser, even if you don't wear makeup, it is imperative that you clean your skin of any dirt and grime accumilated from lifes daily adventures. I dread to think what makeup-reliant women look like without cleanser! Use each and every night with a clean cotton pad.

no2 - just to be a fangirl - Garnier Fresh Essentials Refreshing Toner. It is important to tone your skin after cleansing it. Each and every night!

no3 - A stricter Astringent cleanser such as Clean and Clear, I personally use an Avon brand. This is essential for people with oily/combination skin such as me. I have suffered with mild cases of acne and it is prone to recur if I don't strictly clean my skin. Unprofessional verdict: if it stings, it's probable good.

no4 - clay masks. Having an oily Tzone, I find it of great help to me when I apply a clay mask. It brings out all of the excess oil and makes skin supple and soft. Its harmful to use often though, and I tend to only apply where the skin is oily.

no5 - moisturiser. Especially after shaving legs! It just simply makes you feel good! I have a top tip for long hours standing up. After a shower before leaving for work, I will apply some moisuriser to the bottoms of my feet, this way, when I put my socks on, my feet will be soaking it up and keeping my feet soft!

no6 - slightly the same as no5, tinted moisturiser! I don't like wearing makeup on my face, anything other than eyeliner! So tinted moisturiser is the best way to imply colour but whilst keeping your skin healthy!

no7 - Look Beauty Brow Perfect. This kit has saved my life. With 7 different shades and four cities' shapes to choose from, you can so easily transform your brows. Also has a mini pair of tweezers for those annoying little stragglies! Buy here or at your local Superdrug store!

no8 - Maybeline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner in Ultra Black. Paint it on, just how you like. Run the brush over the base of your eyelashes, then push the brush between your finger, creating a sharp precision brush to create definitive flicks for a classy edge. Perfect!

no9 - Laura Geller's Balance n Brighten. See my last blog, that is all I need to say!

last but not least no10 - ModelCO Illusion Nude Lip Liner. This ingenious invention has a built in sharpener in the lid. Every pencil ever needs this! Its perfect to wear to work, it gives the illusion of bigger lips without the illusion of wearing makeup. I insist you buy one!

Cobblestone dream

And she steals him with every street. Every leaf and cobblestone is true beauty, hard as she is. I do not compete.
And my empty heart aches for the shell. If I were as hard, an anchor or rock. Instead, his support is metres underground, further still.

I had his heart, I did.
Poisonous, eternal living and speechless,

she wins.

Designer Makeup? Naa, Laura Who?

I would just like to take the time out of my day to possibly make other peoples days a lot better! I introduce to you, the best invention ever.

When my mom kept on at me that she wanted Laura Geller's makeup, I just presumed it was another one of those QVC picks she fads over. This time, on a Today's Special Value, I had enough money in my bank to snap her one up before they completely sold out in just a few hours. I had paid just under £40 for a kit containing the only things you need to transform your life. I'm not much of a makeup kinda girl, my makeup bag consists of 4 items; a tinted moisteriser, a primer, an eyebrow kit and the essential gel eyeliner. I refuse to wear layers of makeup to cover the bluey veins that discoulour my whole face but Laura Geller's Balance-n-Brighten Foundation is an unusually made liquid product which is baked for 24 hours, making it light to wear. Perfect flawless neautrilisation to my skin without horrible lines or cakey substances. The only makeup I've found that I enjoy wearing. I think I may have to invest in one just for me! I seriously think that people buy expensive makeup just for its designer name or image. Why waste your money when you could buy products that are actually specially made for specific problems. Isn't that what makeups for? Sorry mom, looks like you'll be sharing for a while!
You can buy Balance-n-Brighten here.

And the award goes to...

It is no secret that I have an undying love for figure-hugging LBD's. And it comes as no surprise that I have found another to add to my collection. It is however a surprise on where I found it. Forget boutiques or quiet vintage shops, this find is from Tesco. Yes, upon finding this dress I have come to the shocking conclusion that Tesco have a stunning collection of classic LBD's this season. My personal must-have is the Shoulder Pad Tube Dress coming in at a beautiful purse friendly £20. I have a subtle hourglass figure; bigger boobs, bum and hips with a smaller waist, and the shape of this dress undeniably compliments all hourglass ladies.

Looking up

This was my face this morning. But it soon perked up when I went home and was presented with my beautiful new sunglasses by the postman! My much much awaited (5 years) Vivienne Westwood lips aviator shades. I felt that I must share these with you.

On other great news, I passed my driving test last Thursday. First time with only 5 minors, pretty good right? Few days later, went out and brought my car! Just need to insure it now and I can start driving!

Torn

Torn
From the go between what I thought was right and what knew was true. A steel hole was punched, filled with unconditional love and infinite support.
But the steel ached.
I resented the steel and cradled the love, boundaries pushed. I wrapped roses so sweet and thorn covered wire around my steel, my worthless protection.

But now. My wilt roses, soft and purposeless next to the empty steel, still aching without worth.

Explore

Yesterday was a glorious day for an adventure! Beautiful sunshine, heat and freshly cut grass all aided the day along with my lovely boyfriend. We went for a lovely stroll across a golf course and took plenty of pictures through the day.
It probably wasn't the best idea to wear an LBD but I think this little beauty is perfect for the summer, and I have a lovely tan too! Just cannot escape my obsession for black, even in 30 degrees!

SHOPPING

SO! After adjusting to my newly freed up lifestyle, I decided to treat myself to a shopping trip. After mentioning in a previous blog how much I feel I've grown this past year, I felt I should reflect this in my clothing! I wanted to buy some new items for my wardrobe that are simplistic statement pieces, ones I can put with various clothes for a different image. I went for a quick browse in my local shopping center and found so many things, unfortunately I had to wait for pay day!
Alas! Pay day! So as planned, I head straight up and emptied my bank account.
River Island and H&M were my first choice of shops as I had completely fallen for some items in there.

The above images were my try ons in H&M. I'm sure I've mentioned before about my dislike for 'flicky out' dresses, I just don't believe they suit me, but relentlessly I tried one on that was just £7.99! Still unsure so I can confirm this is not one of my purchases!

And there's a load of spam of various shots of my try ons and splurges. Saving after this now for a car/driving test/pass plus blahh blah. Such bores but it has to be done! The last image was a spontaneous purchase from New Look. I wasn't expecting to find anything as their recent stock seems to be very bohemian/floral/denims but I have an internal black/grey radar!

PET PEEVES

I spent the majority of today in the lovely city of Birmingham. Not shopping, not eating, but sitting judging womens' absurd choice of clothing. I hate the idea of prejudice, but it brings up the topic of my worst fashion pet peeves.

no 1 - Leggings as trousers
I cannot distress how angry it makes me seeing see through leggings disguised as trousers. I do not want to see your bum and do not need to see your underwear!

no 2 - Tan and grey
The worlds tackiest colour next to pink: tan. I could rant forever about the pure illegal mix of grey and tan.

no 3 - Dolly shoes in the winter
I don't understand the logic behind wearing flat open shoes in the snowing winter.

no 4 - Blue Jeans
Blue jeans to me are the tackiest, cheapest looking choice of bottoms, on par with tracksuits. It's black all the way

no5 - overpowered colours/prints
I don't care what fashion magazines say, colour/print clashing is awful. The use of over 4 colours in an outfit is just messy. Prints should only be mixed with block colours of the same colour in the print. Who thought that pink leopard print looks great with orange stripes?

That is my rant over for the day!

FREEDOM

Ladies and Gents, the time has come... I have officially completed college. These past two years have been quite incredible, extremely eye-opening and inspirational. I feel terrible for the people who never attended college. I studied a level 3 BTEC in Computer Games Design and I have to say there is not one ounce of regret.

The first year was such an amazing year, full of fun and adventures, experiences and learning. Looking back, it is so surreal how much I have grown in such a short space of time. The second year of my course was hard; jam-packed with stress, tears and doubt. I feel like it's been a rollercoaster of learning and growing and I wouldn't change anything about it. For the first year, I doubted my chances of surviving university after being consistently put off it. Juggling so many tasks and emotions this year and still coming out with great grades assures me that I'll always rise to the challenge.
Leaving college to me was so emotional as I know it was the best two years of my life to date. I've gone through changes as a person; academically, emotionally and physically. I've met some great people and made memories that will last forever.

DIP-HEM HIPPY

A quick update to show some of my new things. In the top picture you can make out my new marl dip hem top from eBay. I've been after more dip hem tees as the Topshop one I own is something I could easily wear 7 days straight. I believe dip hem tees are absolutely perfect with leggings (one of my ultimate pet-peeves being women wearing them as trousers.)
Leggings are such a hard item to master, but I'm forever seeing naiive, cringy mistakes and there is NOTHING worse than being able to see womens' underwear through their "trousers". This is where the dip hem comes to the rescue; being a top from the front and discreetly covering the see-through bum part! Thank fashion gods!

The next two images are my beloved rings. I have forever been a fan of silver and rings but was unable to wear them up until two years ago. I forced myself to get used to the feeling and now feel lost without them. New ones are on each thumb and the beautiful skeleton ring on my middle finger. Again, all eBay purchases from a great silver seller. And just a moment of appreciation please for Nails Inc and the everlasting shade of blue that worships my nails (I love you).

bah bah black dress

I have decided that I need to own this Miss Selfridge dress. It is absolutely perfect for every occasion. It will forever be sophisticated, the mesh adds a classic gothy look and the shape will highlight curves. At £26 I believe it is definitely on my to get list.

RE-VAMP

Hi bloggers! I have totally re-vamped my blog. I have a mild obsession for baroque patterns and colours and this background was the closest I could get whilst still being able to change fonts/colours etc. (I also love the word VAMP)

My favourite colours of all time are red/black/white so it's great to incorporate them into my blog. I have added links to all my active sites to the right. Including eBay! I am a mild eBay seller at present, however I wish to change that over the next few months. Once I finish college and take a gap year, I hope to get into selling more so watch this space. If you do have an eBay account, make sure to check my items and add me to your favourite sellers!

Also follow me on Instagram as this is probably my more active accounts out of them all. I adore Instagram, I often post ootd's and general snaps from my day to day life. Follow if you're interested!

Thanks for reading and have a lovely day!

OH MY...

I really think you all should check out a little brand called Oh My Love. I first found out about them at the Clothes Show Live last year. I stumbled upon a small stand and completely fell for this dipped hem aubergine coloured dress, the brand being OML. Check them out and you're sure to find some interesting items on there.
